Introducing... new SEM Principal, Andrew Palacios.

Andrew PalaciosIt is with great pleasure that I introduce to you our new SEM Principal, Andrew Palacios.

Andrew Palacios previously served as the PLTW Engineering & PLTW Biomedical Science Academy, Science & Foreign Language Department Administrator at Hillcrest High School. He is in his fourth year of administration and served two prior years as Science Department Chair. Andrew is a proud Townview Magnet Center Alumnus!

Andrew graduated with a degree in Biology from The University of Texas at Arlington and is currently a Doctor of Education student at Dallas Baptist University with an emphasis on Educational Leadership K-12. He has been a keynote speaker for various Dallas ISD Scholarship Fundraising and STARS on the Rise Scholarship Events. Andrew has been featured in the Dallas Morning News and Univision Radio interviews.

As a first generation college student, Andrew conducted extensive research throughout undergraduate and won first place at a national competition. At the University of Texas at Arlington, Andrew served as president of an honor society for two years and organized various community service and induction events. He also led an executive board. Mr. Palacios is the proud 3-time recipient of the Stars on the Rise Scholarship through the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.

Mr. Palacios served as a teacher at Sunset High School where he taught various science courses including, Advanced Placement Chemistry, IPC, Biology, Forensic Science, and Anatomy Physiology. Prior to his appointment at Hillcrest he served briefly as an assistant principal at Greiner Middle School and Thomas Edison Middle School in Dallas.

He is currently serving on the Board of Representatives for the Association of Hispanic School Administrators and as an appointed public official for a local city. Andrew is originally from Oak Cliff and spends his free time with his wife, daughter, and church.
